Note: I am including an mp3 audio file so you can hear it as played on a synthecizer that fairly closely mimics the sound of the real instruments. For playback merely click on the filename. If installed, Microsoft Media Player will begin to play after a transmission delay. The selection is about 4 minutes 40 seconds long. The balance of the Cantata is to be finished. This is the first 2 installments, but it represents roughly 3/4 of the entirety by page count. This is typical "Triumphant Bach" with Trumpets and Timpani and Organ and all the other wonderful effects we are used to in Bach's music. I will take credit for translating the music from the archaic form you find in the BachGesellschaft release and for writing out the figured bass for organ. I have heard recordings of this selection made by other ensembles and I think they all seem to play it too fast. I prefer this tempo Also, my apologies for the synthecizer. It cannot sing the words of the choral parts. So it substitutes "aaah" for them Also, in Verse 2, a flute sound is substituted for the voice enjoy organistjohn |
